A filmic reinvention of French painter Balthus’ controversial 1938 work of his young muse titled “Thérèse Dreaming.“ In collaboration with Maya Hawke and Fred Hechinger, we imagined the interior world of the painting, creating a world in which Thérèse invites the viewer into her roon, filled with books and artworks: an inner life of vibrance. The flat, one dimensional painting becomes three dimensional. This project taps into storytelling through an Art Historical lens.
